Can you tell us about your professional journey?
After earning a degree in Medical Biotechnology and a master's in Cosmetic Science and Technology (COSMAST) from the University of Ferrara, I began my career in the cosmetics industry, holding various roles from R&D to marketing, and eventually becoming a product and project manager in third-party cosmetic manufacturing companies. This diverse experience allowed me to develop a holistic understanding of the industry, blending scientific rigor with a passion for creative marketing, which culminated in the creation of Laboteca.
What motivated you to open a production laboratory?
The decision to establish Laboteca was driven by the desire to create a creative hub that embodies a vision of a cosmetic laboratory integrating both marketing and production seamlessly. My experience as a consultant for B2B and B2C beauty companies highlighted the need for a more integrated approach that manages the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept to finished product—in a highly competitive market. Our mission is to guide clients through every stage of development and ideation, from product naming to safety aspects.
How did the name Laboteca come about?
The name "Laboteca" merges "laboratory" and "bottega," reflecting our mission to combine artisanal and personalized small-batch production with the precision and innovation of a scientific lab. It also pays homage to my passion for music, which continues to inspire and influence my creative approach in the cosmetic industry. Laboteca is not a silent laboratory; new ideas and formulas often emerge from listening to live music or bands.
Who are your services aimed at?
Laboteca provides specialized services to a broad range of professionals and sectors within the beauty and wellness industry. Our clients include:
B2B Professionals: Brand managers, product managers, new brand founders, indie brand managers, lab managers, project managers, and CEOs. We support these professionals in developing, producing, and marketing their cosmetic products with an approach that integrates both production and marketing.
Pharmacies and Parapharmacies: We work closely with pharmacies and parapharmacies to develop products that meet the specific needs of their clientele, ensuring high-quality and well-positioned products.
Hospitality, Spa, and Wellness: We assist the hospitality sector, including hotels, spas, and wellness centers, in creating exclusive products that enhance their guests' experiences with innovative and personalized formulas.
Hairdressers and Beauty Salons: We also support hairdressing professionals in developing specific products such as hair treatments and styling products for use in salons or for sale to end customers.

We offer a full-service solution, from formula research and development to label and packaging creation, and regulatory and safety aspects. Our full-service approach extends to marketing as well. Laboteca operates not only as a cosmetic production lab but also as a marketing and communication agency, reflecting our vision of a truly comprehensive service in the beauty sector. Our mission is to create products that are not only of the highest quality and effectiveness but also well-prepared to compete in a growing market through strategic and engaging communication.

What are your key strengths?
We specialize in the production of small and medium batches, believing in well-crafted projects from both formulation and marketing perspectives. Our strengths include flexibility and the ability to offer in-house marketing services, which helps reduce time and costs by managing everything in one place.
We assist clients in entering the market by providing digital marketing services that include branding, digital marketing, website and e-commerce platform development, as well as the creation of multimedia content such as videos, photos, and audio, tailored for the beauty sector. Our team is a close-knit group with diverse expertise, including photographers, graphic designers, video-makers, social media managers, and professionals from the beauty sector such as chemists, pharmacists, and biologists.
Why did you decide to join the Cosmetitrovo network?
I met you at a trade show a few years ago and was immediately impressed by the idea (and you!). I saw the potential to integrate demand and supply in a simple, intuitive, and highly useful service.
